The Eastern States Cup is a USA Cycling Regional Championship Down Hill Mountain Bike Race Series. The Series is in its second year and welcomes 4 new venues to the multi championship series. Joining Plattekill NY and Mount Snow VT will be Pat’s Peak NH, Attitash NH, Killington VT and Whiteface NY. The venues are all pioneers and leaders in the East Coast Down Hill Race scene. They are well known for mountain biking and have a history of hosting successful events including World Cups and National Championships.

USA Cycling has inscribed the ESC as a USAC Regional Championship Series. Also within the ESC, three separate USAC State Championships will be contested. Plattekill and Whiteface will host 4 races for the New York State Championship. Mount Snow and Killington will host 4 races for the Vermont State Championship. While Pat’s Peak and Attitash will decide the New Hampshire State Championship with two races within two weeks.

The Eastern States Cup will sanction 10 Series races plus the Finals. The series kicks off with three New England stops; Mount Snow is first up June 4-5 followed by the two New Hampshire dates. The USAC NH State Championship will be decided June 11-12 and 18-19 at Pat’s Peak and Attitash respectively.

Pat’s Peak will host their annual bike festival in conjunction with it’s ESC race. The festival features a USAC XC race, a 24-12-6 Hour Mountain Bike Race and The ESC Downhill MTB race. The Killington stop will be part of their Outdoor Music Festival featuring live music all day.  Whiteface and Mount Snow will be offering all the fun things that make those races special. Plattekill will host Plattepalooza again during the Columbus Day ESC Finals. The NYS Championship will be determined by three races at Plattekill and the prestigious Whiteface 5k. September 10-11.  The Whiteface 5k is one of the longest and toughest DH bike races in the country. The ESC Series Finals will be held at Plattekill Bike Park, October 8-9.

One of the unique features of the Eastern States Cup Series is its support of junior racers. The ESC will offer a  $600 bonus to be split between the top three Cat1 under 18 men racers. While the pro men and women will split up $1200 per race and $1600 for the final standings.

The Eastern States Cup will provide high-level racing, multiple USAC Championships at great venues. The ESC will strive to provide fun and professional events. The Eastern States Cup format will reduce travel to racers; offer fair pricing, provide a set structure, and will post results and series points quickly.
